Is that natural? Uhm, well, yes, if you mean my hair, I don't do anything to curl it. Do you do your own makeup? Yes. Some time ago, I had help, but I quickly learned myself. How long does that take? It depends. If you mean my eyes, well, for everday use, I spend only about
a minute or two total. I've never timed it. However, if I'm going out, it does
take me about
two hours to go from "I should start getting ready." to leaving the house. Do you wear that to work? Work? Who works? I occasionally wear some eyeliner, nail polish out. You have two degrees? Yes, I have two Bachelor's Degrees: BSEE (in Electrical Engineering) from
Georgia TECH, and AB in Physics from
Wheaton College. I worked six years
to receive the combined "Dual Degree." Currently, I'm working on a third degree, a Masters in EE at
Tufts University What do you do? Um. This is a tough one. The short answer is, "I pretend to be a grad student."
I'm at Tufts, ostensibly to study Digital Signal Processing (Image Processing) with
the intent of applying it to Astronomical Imaging. (Look for CCD imaging on Astronomy
related sites.) A longer answer was: My company makes sensors that
utilize quantum mechanics to extract
information from plastics, during production, without altering the sample. This information, however, is not
in a terribly useful form. It is possible to convert that information into a useable form. However,
that process is not trivial. Nor can it only be done once and forgotten. I build computer models (and work to improve the building process) which
can translate the output of our sensors into a useable form. I did other stuff too, but that was for a time, the core of my responsibility. How do you keep your side-burns so straight? Actually, it isn't very difficult. Making them straight isn't the trouble.
The trouble is keeping them consistent. That's
difficult. And that, I'm not terribly good at... they end up wherever the razor
slips. They seem to be getting longer. Will they eventually meet in the middle?
